Comcast Florida Leader Amy Smith Recognized among Top Industry Power Players by CableFAX Magazine

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Comcast Florida today announced that CableFAX: The Magazine has named Amy Smith, Regional Senior Vice President for Comcast's Florida Region, to its annual list of The CableFAX 100—Cable's Power Players. Smith, a 20-year cable industry veteran, has been at the helm of what is now Comcast's largest region since December of 2011.

Comcast Florida today announced that CableFAX: The Magazine has named Amy Smith, Regional Senior Vice President for Comcast's Florida Region, to its annual list of The CableFAX 100-Cable's Power Players. In the new June 2013 "Cable's Top Power Players Issue," CableFAX: The Magazine ranked Smith number 5 on its Top Regionals list. CableFAX noted that "Smith has the unique challenge of managing a diverse customer base that demands all the latest bells and whistles...and [she] hasn't wasted any time giving customers what they want." The magazine described Smith as having "doubled broadband speeds in the region at no extra cost this year. And on the programming side, she announced plans to add up to 32 Hispanic channels to Comcast's MultiLatino packages, including sports, entertainment, children's programming, music and history."


The CableFAX 100 recognizes the cable industry's most iconic power list, ranking the most influential cable executives in the industry.

Smith is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), and in 2006 was named one of the "Most Powerful Women in Cable" by CableWORLD Magazine.
