Semtech Beats on Revenue, Matches Expectations on EPS
Semtech (NAS: SMTC) reported earnings on May 22. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.46. The nine earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast $0.46 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.46 for Q1 were 70% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.27 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.22 for Q1 were much higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.03 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 59.9%, 140 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 12.4%, 180 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 9.1%, 720 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $167.8 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.54.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $689.4 million. The average EPS estimate is $2.20.
