ADTRAN Beats on Both Top and Bottom Lines

EPS came in at $0.17. The 11 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.12 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.17 for Q1 were 32% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.25 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.13 for Q1 were 35% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.20 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 48.7%, 630 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 4.6%, 740 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 5.5%, 410 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $155.8 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.20.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $619.2 million. The average EPS estimate is $0.76.
