Alaska Air Group Beats Analyst Estimates on EPS

EPS came in at $0.62. The 12 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.56 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.62 for Q1 were 59% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.39 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.51 for Q1 were 8.9% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.56 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 21.0%, 40 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 5.6%, 50 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 3.3%, 60 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.30 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $1.77.
