SCANA Whiffs on Revenues
SCANA (NYS: SCG) filed its 10-K on Feb. 29. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31 (Q4), SCANA whiffed on revenues and missed estimates on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue dropped and GAAP earnings per share stayed the same.
Margins increased across the board.
SCANA notched revenue of $1.04 billion. The five analysts polled by S&P Capital IQ hoped for revenue of $1.18 billion on the same basis. GAAP reported sales were 9.7% lower than the prior-year quarter's $1.15 billion.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.75. The 11 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $0.79 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $0.74 were the same as the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 33.1%, 410 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 20.1%, 220 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 9.5%, 120 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.37 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $1.13.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $4.60 billion. The average EPS estimate is $3.17.
The stock has a five-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 123 members out of 132 rating the stock outperform, and nine members rating it underperform. Among 46 CAPS All-Star picks (recommendations by the highest-ranked CAPS members), 44 give SCANA a green thumbs-up, and two give it a red thumbs-down.
