EV Energy Partners Whiffs on Earnings
EV Energy Partners (NAS: EVEP) reported earnings Wednesday. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31 (Q4), EV Energy Partners whiffed on revenues and whiffed on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue expanded significantly, and GAAP earnings per share increased.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.20. The four earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.58 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS were $0.27 for Q4 against -$0.55 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 64.9%, 190 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was -6.4%, 1,820 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 14.5%, 4,440 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $103.6 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.62.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $420.4 million. The average EPS estimate is $2.64.
The stock has a four-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 407 members rating the stock outperform and 15 members rating it underperform.
