Navistar International Beats Analyst Estimates on EPS
Navistar International (NYS: NAV) reported earnings on Dec. 20. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Oct. 31 (Q4), Navistar International missed on revenues but beat expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue expanded significantly, and earnings per share grew significantly.
Margins increased across the board.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $3.37. The 15 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast $3.10 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $3.48 for Q4 were much higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.54 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 20.6%, 330 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 7.8%, 430 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 5.9%, 470 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
