Jason Statham Transports to Ben Stiller's House
A deed transfer has not yet been recorded on the property, and the sale is noted as pending on the listing agent's website; it's still an active listing in the MLS because escrow has not yet closed. The home has been on the market since March at this price; earlier it had been listed at $12.5 million.
The contemporary-style house that Statham sold for $2.7 million had been listed for a smidgen higher at $2,749,000 and went into escrow with a week, heralding the popping of champagne corks in realty circles.
No matter what Statham is paying for Stiller and Taylor's (pictured at left) place, he's clearly buying a considerably bigger house package. It's a Spanish Mediterranean-style compound with three properties, including a six-bedroom main house. Stiller bought and annexed two adjacent properties -- one a vacant lot on which he build a one-bedroom guesthouse of 1,161 square feet, and the other lot that came with a 1930s five-bedroom home that added another 4,062 square feet. The two larger homes are connected by a swimming pool area and lush landscaping, Luxist reported in 2009.
Comedian Stiller starred in 2010's "Little Fockers" and the upcoming "Tower Heist," an action comedy set to be released in November. Aside from the "Transporter" movie series, Statham's films include "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "The Expendables."
Jonah Wilson of Sotheby's International Realty-Sunset listed Stiller's property.
