An unwanted copy of USA Today has one California man suing mad, literally. Rodney Harmon is suing Hilton for charging him 75 cents for a copy of the paper that he didn't request.

Last March, Harmon spent the night at the Hilton Garden Inn Sonoma County Airport. As he was leaving the next morning he saw the USA Today at his door, but left it where it was.

Days later, reports The New York Times, Harmon caught a glance of the fine print on his room key pouch that said he would be charged for the paper unless he specifically un-requested it.

His reaction? To file a class-action lawsuit last week in federal court in San Francisco, accusing Hilton of deliberately hiding the newspaper charge in a practice that's deceitful, wasteful and harmful to the environment.

"Mr. Harmon and this law firm believe there is more at stake than 75 cents," Harmon's lawyer, Kirk J. Wolden, told The Times. "It exemplifies the types of advantages that, unfortunately, we see companies taking of you and I and everyone else every day."

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the suit charges that since USA Today's readership and circulation has drastically declined over the past several decades, most hotel guests probably aren't reading. Thus, the wasted papers are an "offensive waste of precious resources and energy."

Hilton did not comment on the matter.
