bea arthurThe estate of the late Bea Arthur of TV's The Golden Girls and Maude is trying to lease the Brentwood home in Los Angeles where she spent the last days of her life, reported the Real Estalker. The family is asking about $32,500 per month, though no word if that includes furnishings.

The 5-bedroom home with vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams, and painted brick fireplaces was designed by the father of the California ranch-style, Cliff May, whose style tended to erase the lines between indoors and outdoors, although not so much so in this case. See 30 photos in our gallery on the home.

The house was later updated in the mid-2000s by builder-designer Matt Saks, who is Arthur's older adopted son and who appeared in at least one episode of The Golden Girls portraying a police officer talking with his mom's character, Dorothy Zbornak. (See video below.)

The redesigned kitchen, with its marble counter tops, is open to the living area and the master has a large walk-in closet, pictured below. The house, which sits on four acres in the Sullivan Canyon area also has a pool, a tennis court, private hiking trails, and waterfalls.

The Tony and Emmy-award winning Arthur, who died of cancer in April 2009, moved into the May-designed house in 1975.

Iconic actress Betty White, who played Rose Nylund, is the last remaining member of The Golden Girls. Rue McClanahan, who portrayed Blanche Devereaux on the show, died last year. Estelle Getty, whose character Sophia Petrillo was mother to Arthur's character, died in 2008.
