Atlantic City Restaurants
The resort city of Atlantic City is well known for its coastal views, gambling, and shopping. But dining at some of the best Atlantic City restaurants is just as popular among travelers and locals alike. AOL Travel gives you a few tasty suggestions for some of the best Atlantic City dining.
Best Atlantic City Restaurants: Fine Dining Category
Most of New York's fine diners are by now aware of the excellence that is Il Mulino New York. It's difficult not to be aware of this Italian restaurant's existence, especially after being inundated with Zagat awards over the years. Eventually the same reputation carried over to other cities around the world, including Atlantic City, where it found a home in the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort. There you can expect the same delicious Italian food and professional service. Of course, that means that just like in New York, reservations come highly recommended. While the prices of a couple items may seem ridiculous ($70 rack of lamb, anyone?) there are plenty of succulent entrees that range in the $25-$35 range. Combine the fantastic food with a full wine menu and exceptional service to create one of the best fine dining experiences an Atlantic City restaurant can offer.

When Atlantic City locals think about quality dining in the area, it's difficult not to mention the iconic Dock's Oyster House. Having been around since 1897, Dock's knows a thing or two about not only oysters, but also many other types of seafood. What might be a little surprising is the consistency with which they produce quality food of all types. Whether it's a busy July or a slow December, the Dougherty family and their staff strive to keep quality top notch. Of course, Dock's features an abundance of different oysters from origins all along the Eastern Seaboard. And while traditional classics like fried jumbo shrimp still grace the menu, the chefs at docks do like to experiment with their entrees on occasion. (Try the crispy wasabi tuna, for example.) All of this deliciousness combines with great service to make Dock's one of the best Atlantic City restaurants, being labeled a top Editor's pick by AOL Travel.

For many, there's nothing like quality pub food and a fine pint of ale to make a day special. Even travelers - often weary from dining out so often - take pleasure in the pub. The folks at The Trinity Irish Pub & Carvery understand this premise well. With friendly service, great food, and cost-cutting happy hour specials, Trinity brings people back again and again. And while nothing in particular stands out as being exceptional at Trinity, everything just seems to work well together, forming the perfect low-frills, easy-going environment many travelers are looking for on an otherwise bustling Atlantic City boardwalk. They even serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, for those looking for a little more Irish flare out of their Atlantic City dining.

The White House Sub Shop is practically an institution among New Jersians, serving up fat and delicious subs for over 45 years. While the atmosphere isn't anything special, the subs certainly illicit a cult-like following of people. The bread is something all its own, and it's usually stacked to overflowing with ingredients, making even the half sub a hearty meal. Note that it's certainly not unusual to see a long line snaking out of the White House around lunch time, but there are a couple of things you can do that might save you time. Last time I checked, they had a separate line tucked away in the back for those wanting to make a to-go order. Failing that, they do take orders over the phone for pick up. And for the amount of sandwich you get, the White House certainly feels like a best value for your budget, making it one of the best Atlantic City restaurants.

Best Atlantic City Restaurants: Honorable Mention
It would feel almost criminal to stop writing without at least mentioning Chef Vola's Italian restaurant. Vola's doesn't readily fit into any dining category with its strange underground status. It could take days if not weeks to get a reservation to this strange, cramped little basement restaurant. I'll just leave you with this thorough and well-written TripAdvisor review of Chef Vola's by user Opinion95. Enjoy!
