QVC skillet recallHome shopping network QVC recalled an 8-inch cast-iron skillets it sold because pieces of their enamel coating can come off and potentially burn consumers, the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission said.

CPSC said there have been five reports of enamel pieces popping off the skillet when it's heated, with two consumers suffering minor burns.

The Technique skillets -- about 7,500 in all -- were made by Meyer Trading Co. Ltd. of Hong Kong and were sold through QVC's shopping programs, on its website and in its stores from August 2009 through September 2010 for between $28 and $35 each. The recalled skillets have two pour spouts and a ribbed underside. The skillet's interior is cream colored and its exterior came in three colors -- sage, blue and red. The Technique brand name is printed on the skillet's bottom.

Consumers who bought the skillets should stop using them and return them for a full refund. Consumers can call QVC at (800) 367-9444 with any questions between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m. Eastern Time.

Last year, QVC had to recall Paula Deen cast iron cookware -- also made by Meyer Trading -- because those could crack or even shatter when heated.

But Deen isn't the only TV cooking maven with her name attached to recalled cookware. Just this week, Rachael Ray teakettles were recalled because of a risk of hot liquid spraying or spilling, burning consumers.
