Aircraft Loses Door Over Denmark
According to a report by The Associated Press, a Danish safety official said an access hatch door fell from a U.S. carrier's 757 aircraft en route from the New York area to Copenhagen, the Danish capital, on Nov. 19.
The door fell near Holbaek, about 40 miles west of Copenhagen.
Pilots noticed something was awry with the hydraulic systems while descending, and upon landing discovered a 32-by-48-inch hydraulic bay access door on the ground.
The Danish official did not identify the airline.
No one was hurt on the ground, and the plane landed safely at Copenhagen.
