Heather Mills Selling NYC Condo After Just a Year
Why the quick exit? One can only guess. Mills purchased the stunning condo in 173 Perry St. for $4.9 million in July 2008 and is now looking to unload it for $5.3 million. The two-bedroom, two-bath unit stretches 1,808 square feet across the entire ninth floor of the tower, one of three that architect Richard Meier designed along the Hudson River. The complex has been known to house other celebs like Natalie Portman. And Perry Street is by far one of the choicest streets in New York's celeb-heavy West Village.
Who else lives nearby?
Katie Lee (the ex-Mrs. Billy Joel) is still trying to unload her Nate Berkus-designed townhouse down the block at 23 Perry St. for $12.9 million. And the penthouse that the Olsen twins recently sold for $7.7 million is just seven blocks away at One Morton Square.
Plus the street has served as the backdrop of the quintessential downtown New York neighborhood in many a movie. A brownstone on Perry Street served as the front for Carrie Bradshaw's "Sex and the City" apartment building. And recently another on the street appeared in the Jennifer Aniston movie, "The Bounty Hunter,"as the home of Gerard Butler's character.
But for those who don't want the old bones of a brownstone, new high rises like Mills' are available along the waterfront but still within the charming neighborhood.
