Tesla Motors Recalls Roadsters for Fire Danger
The company said it is recalling Roadster models 2.0 and 2.5 after an incident where a cable chafed against the edge of a carbon fiber panel in the car, creating smoke and possibly fire behind the right headlamp.
"This issue is limited to the 12V low voltage auxiliary cable and does not involve the main battery pack or main power system," the company said in a statement.
Tesla owners will be notified by e-mail and normal mail. The company can service the cars at customers' home or offices.
