Airline Loses Gucci Bag Worth 50K

For anyone who has ever had a bag lost by an airline, consider the case of fashion heir Giorgio Gucci.

Gucci was flying from Madrid to Philadelphia on his way to Washington DC, on US Airways.

He checked his fancy luggage, which contained $50,000 worth of historical Gucci items. And the airline lost the bag, reports the New York Post.

Among the contests were vintage handbags and hundreds of family photos that were to be used for a documentary on Gucci's life.

But that's not all. The bag also contained the fashionable Italian's custom-made suits.

Gucci was scheduled to testify before Congress about counterfeit goods and had to have something to wear. So he went to menswear retailer JoS. A. Bank and dropped $450 on a much cheaper suit.

With his U.S. visit also including a New York launch for his Giorgio G. Cognac, Gucci is no doubt hoping his bag will be found sooner rather than later.
