British Airline Debuts Live Opera In Flight

Passengers were treated to live entertainment on a flight from Manchester, U.K. to Prague, and we're talking by real opera singers.

The performance by members of the Prague State Opera, including soprano Vera Likerova, was on a Bmibaby flight and marks the debut of what the low-cost British carrier is calling "enterplanement," reports the Telegraph newspaper.

Bmibaby is also planning to showcase other top European acts on planes in coming months.

"As well as putting the fun back into flying, we thought we could do something more interactive and actually have representatives from the destinations on a few flights," says Julian Carr, managing director of Bmibaby.

The idea, he adds, is to inspire travelers.
