Deal for Solo Walkers

Country Walkers is celebrating what the upscale tour company is calling "the independent spirit of solo travel," by waiving the single supplement on four peak season walking tours.

In other words, you can do a tour at the same rate as if you shared accommodations.

The tours featured in the "Solo Bonanza" promotion are in Ireland, Italy and Ecuador (in photo).

As examples: For a weeklong Cinque Terre tour in Italy, departing Oct. 10, pay $3,698, a savings of $425.

The Vermont-based company's tours include local guides, accommodations, most meals, transportation to the meeting and departure points and entrance fees. Moderate walks are 3 to 5 miles per day.
