No credit card is required. I got a free subscription to Forbes through Mercury Magazines and while Forbes is not my favorite mag, I enjoy browsing the stories. For reference, a year-long subscription to Woman's Day currently costs $10 on Amazon.

Caveats: unclear how long the free subscription is for. My free Forbes subscription lasted about three months.
