L.A. Rental: Beverly Hills 2BR Penthouse, $2,800
The average rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Beverly Hills for April 2010 was $3,845, making this apartment a great value at $2,800. Beverly Hills is a city with plenty to do (shops, restaurants and celeb watching), natural beauty (palm tree lined streets, bougainvillea) and a safe environment. No matter what your career or where you need to go in the L.A. area, Beverly Hills is actually a practical place to call home.
Even in a city where you can get space -- indoor and out -- this apartment is large. At 2,500 square feet with two bedrooms and two and a half baths, this apartment is plenty spacious. Add to that: large, sliding-glass doors for lots of light; the private rooftop decks; two-car parking; and a controlled-access building, and you have the makings of an amazing apartment. It has a slightly retro feel, so you can design your place as if it were a spot Sinatra would've strolled by after a night on the town.
The views from the decks are wonderful, and being a bright apartment, you can really enjoy the sun and beauty of Southern California. The apartment also has central air and heat, new carpet, and stainless-steel appliances with new laminate flooring in the kitchen.
Major boulevards like Wilshire, Olympic, Pico, La Cienega and Sunset can get you to Santa Monica, Downtown L.A. and even LAX. (Sometimes it's way more efficient than the freeway.) It's also easy to get around on public transportation from the neighborhood, as buses are plentiful.
So, bottom line: This apartment is pretty great, with new appliances, lots of space, a central location, a safe neighborhood close to L.A., and a below-market price. Go for it.
