How long have you lived in Beachwood Canyon? On and off for about 20 years. It was my first neighborhood when I moved here. I moved out for a little bit but have been back a while. I'm a connoisseur of my neighborhood.
What do you love most about your neighborhood?

Proximity to Los Angeles as a whole. For me I find that it's centrally located in the middle of the city and I can get to anywhere from here. I can get anything I need, but I feel like I am living in a more rural environment. It's a private home and there are a lot of trees around. While I love people, I love that you don't see your neighbors. It's quiet and private up here. L.A. is such a fast pace, when you're out and about, that when you come home it's nice to disappear into the trees.

Do you talk to your neighbors?
Yes, I do. It's a very friendly neighborhood. I think, unlike a lot of neighborhoods in L.A., it's a community village atmosphere. A lot of people have lived in the neighborhood a long time.

Best kept secret in Beachwood Canyon?
I have to say I absolutely love the Beachwood Market. I don't think there is anything else that still exists like it. It's family owned for more than 50 years. It's got a traditional style butcher; it's like a classic French market. Their prices are more reasonable, it's more economical than most of Hollywood, and the same people have been helping me there for 20 years. I'm an avid cook and foodie, so I love that.

Favorite way to spend a Saturday night in your neighborhood?
At home making dinner for friends and then a walk in the hills.

Does your neighborhood influence your design and artwork?
I actually draw inspiration for color palette, materials and the light quality from the area, the architecture. Beachwood Canyon has a wide variety of time periods in the homes and mixes of architecture. You can always see something different.
