Pole-beans do require more space since they can grow up to 10 feet tall. Consider annexing the use of your building's roof or even part of your apartment complex's green space, if allowed. (Remember, do not block the emergency exists such as fire escapes). Pole beans look pretty on a trellis, grow fast, and can be frozen for meals later in the year. Simply pick, wash, and boil.
