If you're hungry to get into the Atlanta housing market and think the recent floods might mean lower prices, think again. Today's USA Today said that housing prices haven't plummeted in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a year after widespread flooding devastated the city. Home sales were down just 2.1 percent in July, compared to the previous year. Not quite the opportunist's dream. The paper sites federal disaster relief grants as well as the eight percent tax break for first-time buyers as two reasons sales remained steady. Now, that's what you get for thinking like that.
