Julio Jones’ time with the Atlanta Falcons came to an end this weekend, as he was traded to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for draft picks.

Ever since he was selected by the Falcons in 2011, Jones has been such an integral part of their offense. With that being said, it’s fair to wonder how the offense will look without the seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver.

On Tuesday morning, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith was asked if his offense can be successful without Jones on the roster. His response was eye-opening, as he said “I don’t worry about players I never coached.”

Atlanta fans have applauded Smith on Twitter for this response. Although his comments might seem a little harsh, the reality is Smith doesn’t have a legitimate connection with Jones.

As for the future of the Falcons, they still have some really intriguing pieces on offense.

For starters, Atlanta still has a star wideout on its roster in Calvin Ridley. He had a fantastic year in 2020, hauling in 90 passes for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns. The offense also added a potential-packed pass catcher via the draft, selecting Kyle Pitts with the fourth overall pick.

Life without Jones might not be easy, but the Falcons aren’t going to struggle to move the chains. We’ve seen how dynamic Smith’s offensive scheme can be during his time with the Titans.

The Falcons will begin the 2021 season at home against the Philadelphia Eagles.
