Arrest made as car flips on to roof after crash

A man was arrested after a car flipped on to its roof when it hit a parked car in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to Aspley Lane in Aspley at about 21:15 BST on Wednesday.

An Audi A3 had crashed into a parked Vauxhall Adam, landing on its roof.

The driver, 43, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink and escaped the crash with minor cuts to his arms and legs.

Police say no other injuries were reported as a result of the collision, which is still being investigated.

Insp Paul Whitehead said: “It’s lucky this incident only resulted in minor injuries.

“The consequences of drink driving can be devastating – for drivers themselves, other road users, and pedestrians, too - which is precisely why we take these matters seriously and will always seek to bring offenders to justice."
