Armed robbers hit two South Shore 7-Elevens within an hour, police say

QUINCY − Three masked men with weapons held up the 7-Eleven convenience store on Franklin Street on Wednesday morning, and police are trying to confirm that the three suspects were also involved in a similar robbery in Norwell a half hour earlier.

Quincy police said an officer pursued a blue Hyundai through the intersection of Water and Liberty Streets, in Quincy, according to a police press release. The car fled the officer but crashed after hitting a fire hydrant and telephone pole a short distance from Water Street.

The men fled the crash on foot through through the yards of homes in the neighborhood, police said. A search of the area failed to locate the suspects, but an investigation of the crash scene led them to believe that the men in the vehicle were the same who robbed the 7-Eleven.

Later, a vehicle was reported stolen not far from the crash scene, and police are trying to confirm their suspicion that the same three suspects are responsible for the the car theft, according to the press release.

As reported by WCVB, three masked suspects, two of them armed, described as Spanish-speaking Hispanic men, stole $500 from the 7-Eleven at 95 Washington St. in Norwell just after 4:15 a.m. They left in a black sedan towards Hingham, police said.
