Arizona Cardinals held scoreless in 2nd half of loss to Seattle

The Arizona Cardinals (1-6) failed to capitalize on a trio of Seattle Seahawks (4-2) turnovers and lost 20-10 on Sunday.

The Cardinals trailed 14-10 at the half, but were outscored 6-0 in the second half.

Cardinals QB Joshua Dobbs was 19-for-33 for 146 yards. He was sacked four times. He had eight carries for 43 yards, with a long of 25 that resulted in a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Seattle's Geno Smith was 18-for-24 for 219 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

That interception was part of a telling number for the game.

Arizona won the turnover battle 3-0, but couldn't do anything with the extra possessions. In addition to the Smith interception by Garrett Williams, the Cardinals recovered two fumbles. The three turnovers resulted in just a single field goal, although it could easily be argued that Williams' goal line interception kept 7 points off the scoreboard for Seattle.

Matt Prater was 1-for-2 on field goals. He made a 44-yard attempt, then missed on from 34 yards.

The Cardinals will host the Ravens on Oct. 29 at 1:25 p.m. at State Farm Stadium.

Two plays after the Smith fumble, the Cardinals nearly returned the favor. A high snap to Josh Dobbs results in a 14-yard loss before the quarterback recovered the ball.

Dobbs got half of the loss back on the next play with a 7-yard designed run. A 6-yard pass to Trey McBride set up a 34-yard field goal attempt from Matt Prate. The attempt was a rare miss for Prater, who pulled it left.

Seattle's three turnovers have resulted in a total of just 3 points for Arizona.

Arizona punted after a three-and-out with the Seahawks receiving the ball on their own 34 where Dee Jay Dallas fumbled. Dennis Gardeck recovered for the Cardinals on the Seattle 30.

Matt Prater kicked a 44-yard field goal to get the Cardinals on the board.
