Ariana Grande Gave a Surprise Met Gala Performance Looking Like Fashion Tinkerbell

Not only did Ariana Grande bless everyone with her ethereal presence on the Met Gala red carpet, she treated guests to a surprise performance inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. And yes, there are videos.

Ariana wore what Vogue described as an "off-white spider-webbed crinoline, worn over a diaphanous organdy smock embroidered with lace and thread," which was bespoke Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano. And under all that crinoline was another green tulle gown with "rosettes, hand-sprayed gold dust, and crystal and mirror embroideries." Gorgeous!

Apparently, Ariana performed hits like "Into You," "Seven Rings," "The Boy Is Mine," "We Can’t Be Friends," and "Yes, And," as well as "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty, and “When You Believe” with Cynthia Erivo.

For the carpet, Ari wore a custom pearl Loewe corset, which she paired with 3-D petal wings. Her makeup artist Michael Anthony told Vogue, “This look is so aligned with the ethereal and enchanting nature of Ari throughout her evolution as an artist. It’s all about dreaming and fantasy. Ari trusted me with the process of designing ethereal petal wings that we placed on the temples."

Anthony added, “I’ve always leaned into fantasy and the ethereal realm of gems and Mother Earth, so the custom Loewe mother-of-pearl corset was all I needed to see to be inspired. The theme of this year’s Met ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,’ is so rich with inspiration all by itself and is so aligned with Ari’s world!!”
