RAPTOR HALLOW FUNDRAISER – Raptor Hallow Sanctuary plans a rigatoni dinner fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 18 in the lower level at Hidden Abbey Event Center, 23250 Main St. in Homeworth. Tickets are $12 apiece, and meals include rigatoni with either classic or meat sauce, salad and dessert. Meals are available for dine in or takeout. Tickets will be sold for a raffle to win a pizza oven valued at more than $300. Tickets are $5 apiece, or five for $20. The fundraiser will help Raptor Hallow, which posted in its advertisements that “every penny we raise, both from the dinner and the raffle, goes directly to the care of our precious animals at Raptor Hallow Sanctuary.”

ALLIANCE TREE LIGHTING – City of Alliance’s Christmas in the Park will be 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at Silver Park. The event will include eight free interactive stations for families, and lighted displays throughout the park. Officials said they are working to expand the activities offered while investing in new light displays. Donations to help defray costs for the event can be made to Friends of the Parks, 2930 S. Union Ave., Alliance OH 44601.

SEBRING CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL – Sebring Village will celebrate its Christmas Festival on Dec. 2 beginning at 3:30 p.m. with a Christmas cookie decorating contest at Sebring Public Library. At 4:30 p.m. is a hot chocolate and Santa letter station; and a live nativity at 15th Street and Oregon Avenue. At 4 p.m., parade registration begins, with lineup starting at 5:15 p.m. Christmas caroling will be 5:15 to 5:30 p.m. at 15th Street and Oregon Avenue. The tree lighting will be 5:30 p.m. at Harvest Park. The parade will kick off at 5:45 p.m. at Sebring Court House. After the parade, Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home again will play host to its Winter Wonderland Party. It will include free pictures with Santa, cookies, refreshments and Christmas decoration displays.

CHURCH BREAKFAST – Damascus Methodist Church and Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church plan their monthly community breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 18 at the Damascus church, 300 Valley Road. Breakfast features all-you-can-eat, made-to-order pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee. Cost is donation only. Proceeds will benefit the upcoming 2024 summer mission trip.

CRAFT SHOW – First Christian Church, 1141 W. Beech St. in Alliance, plans its annual Sleigh Bell Lane Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 18. Free admission and parking. Organizers will be accepting non-perishable items for Alliance Community Pantry. Items are to include crafts, fall and Christmas décor and a raffle. BLOOD SCREENING – Salem Regional Medical Center and Columbiana Family Care Center will offer a comprehensive blood screening on Nov. 18. Screening will be at Columbiana Family Care Center, 116 Carriage Drive in Columbiana. Some of the tests included are cholesterol, lipids and triglycerides, red and white blood cells, platelets, electrolytes, enzymes, blood sugar, BUN and creatinine, bilirubin and thyroid function. Cost of the screening is $45. Optional tests available for an additional charge include a prostate specific antigen test for $12, and HgA1c diabetes screen for $28. A lipid panel, which measures cholesterol levels and is included in the comprehensive screening, is available as a stand- alone test for $12. Participants must provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope at the time of the screening to receive a copy of their results. Screenings begin at 7 a.m. and an appointment is required. MEMORY TREE – Aultman Foundation is offering the chance to honor and remember loved ones during this year’s “Light Up a Life Memory Tree.” The 17th annual event, featuring the tree lighting, will premiere virtually at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14. Families, friends and local businesses are invited to sponsor a light on the tree for $25, or a tribute wreath for a $250 donation. Names of those supported with a light and/or wreath will be displayed at Aultman Hospital, Aultman Alliance Community Hospital and the Compassionate Care Center lobbies throughout the holiday season. Supporters can choose whether they would like their tribute wreaths displayed in the Aultman Hospital or AACH lobby. The names of those supported will also be highlighted during Aultman’s Memory Tree virtual ceremony and on Aultman’s social media platforms. Proceeds from the event will benefit Aultman hospice patients, families and grief support programs. Sponsorships will be accepted through Dec. 4. Those who make a gift will receive the invitation to attend the virtual premiere and watch with family and friends.
