Area Happenings: Plays, Maple Syrup Festival, Pancake Day and Scarlet, Gray and Green Fair

West Holmes K-12 Fine Arts Festival, 5-7 p.m. Friday, West Holmes High School. The event will feature music and artwork from students throughout the district. Food trucks will be available. The event is free to attend, but donations are welcome and will support future events.

"Haphazardly Ever After," 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Orrville High School auditorium. Pre-sale tickets are $10 and can be purchased at https://orrvillecommunitytheater.org/. Tickets will be available for purchase the day of the production at the door for $12.

"Charlotte’s Web," 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, First Church of God, 1953 Akron Road, Wooster. Proceeds will be donated to Stirrup Courage, an equestrian learning center near Orrville. Adult tickets are $11, youth tickets (12 and under) are $8 and a Family 4-Pack is $32. Maple Syrup Missions Festival, 7-10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sonnenberg Mennonite Church, 14367 Hackett Road, Kidron. Pancake and sausage breakfast by donations. Proceeds support mission and missionaries.

Orrville Rotary Club Pancake Day, 7 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Trinity United Methodist Church. Proceeds will allow the club to continue providing scholarships to students, provide funding for inbound and outbound exchange students, donate funds for community projects and nonprofits, and expand the flag project. Tickets are a suggested donation of $7 and kids 5-and-under eat free.

Scarlet, Gray and Green Fair, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Secrest Arboretum Welcome & Education Center, 2122 Williams Road, Wooster. Coinciding with the 54th anniversary of Earth Day, the fair features exhibits and demonstrations by nonprofits, citizens and educational groups and speakers whose focus is improving community and global sustainability. The presentation focuses on the Ohio Black community's response to the Civil War, the wartime participation of Black men and the experiences of their families at home and how White Ohioans responded to their service.
