Area briefs: Muncie park board to discuss Prairie Creek leases
MUNCIE, Ind. — The Muncie Parks and Recreation Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, regarding dock and campsite leases for Prairie Creek Reservoir.
The board meets in the auditorium of Muncie City Hall, 300 N. High St.
Liberty-Perry scholarship winners announced
SELMA, Ind. — The Liberty-Perry Alumni Association announced the winners of its four 2024 scholarships, presented to Wapahani High School seniors.
The 2024 Alyssa Anne Couch Scholarship winner is Emilee Thompson, daughter of Jay and Kristy Thompson. Emilee will be attending Ball State University to study radiography.
The 2024 Selma Bluebirds Memorial Scholarship winner is Madeline Jane Jefferson, daughter of Brandon Jefferson and Jane Eley. Madeline will be attending Ball State University to study nursing.
The 2024 Wapahani Alumni Scholarship winner is Isaac Andrews, son of Jeffrey and Melissa Andrews. Isaac — a basketball player who helped lead Wapahani to the 2A State Finals — has not yet decided which university or college he will be attending.
The 2024 Morton A. Lambert Scholarship first co-winner is Jarryn Orme, daughter of Joshua and Sharron Orme. Jarryn will be attending Anderson University to study Christian ministries as her major and cyber security as her minor.
The 2024 Morton A. Lambert Scholarship second co-winner is Isaac Andrews, son of Jeffrey and Melissa Andrews.
