Apples Never Fall Trailer: Annette Bening, Alison Brie and Jake Lacy Star in Latest Liane Moriarty Adaptation

“Secrets will poison any family,” Annette Bening warns in the full-length trailer for Peacock’s Apples Never Fall. “And what you don’t know can hurt you.”

The trailer above, released Wednesday in conjunction with a panel at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, offers a first look at the latest in a string of Liane Moriarty adaptations (following HBO’s Big Little Lies and Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers).

Premiering Thursday, March 14 with all seven episodes, Apples Never Fall “centers on the seemingly picture-perfect Delaney family,” according to the official logline. “Former tennis coaches Stan (Jurassic Park’s Sam Neill) and Joy (Nyad’s Bening) have sold their successful tennis academy and are ready to start what should be the golden years of their lives.

“While they look forward to spending time with their four adult children — played by Jake Lacy (The White Lotus), Alison Brie (Community), Conor Merrigan-Turner (Thai Cave Rescue) and Essie Randles (Speedway) — everything changes when a wounded young woman knocks on Joy and Stan’s door, bringing the excitement they’ve been missing,” the logline continues. “But when Joy suddenly disappears, her children are forced to reexamine their parents’ so-called perfect marriage as their family’s darkest secrets begin to surface.”

The series hails from Melanie Marnich (A Murder at the End of the World) and counts Moriarty, Bening, David Heyman (The Capture), Gregory Jacobs (The Knick), Joe Hortua (Home Before Dark), Albert Page (Rosewood) and Jillian Share (Spooksville) among its EPs.
