Hulu Releases ‘Shrill’ Final Season Trailer (TV News Roundup)

Hulu released a trailer for the third and final season of “Shrill,” which premieres on May 7.

The third season finds Annie (played by Aidy Bryant) energized by new momentum at work and her breakup with dud boyfriend Ryan. In the trailer, Annie goes on dates and new adventures while finding her voice. The series stars Bryant, Lolly Adefope, Ian Owens, John Cameron Mitchell, E.R. Fightmaster and Patti Harrison.

“Shrill” is executive produced by Ali Rushfield, who also serves as showrunner, Aidy Bryant, Lindy West, Rob Klein, Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman, Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Broadway Video, and Brownstone Productions. Warner Bros. Television serves as the international distributor.

Apple TV Plus announced that “Lisey’s Story,” the limited thriller series based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, will debut on June 4 with the first two of eight episodes. Julianne Moore and Clive Owen star alongside Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dane DeHaan, Ron Cephas Jones and Sung Kang. King, who wrote every episode, executive produces alongside Moore, J. J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson, Juan de Dios Larraín and Pablo Larraín, who also directs. “Lisey’s Story” hails from Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

Apple TV Plus also announced that “Watch the Sound with Mark Ronson,” a new docuseries that will explore groundbreaking technology in music, will premiere on July 30. The six-part series will feature Paul McCartney, Questlove, King Princess, Dave Grohl, Adrock and Mike D from the Beastie Boys, Charli XCX and more. “Watch the Sound with Mark Ronson” is produced by Tremolo Productions with Ronson, Morgan Neville, Mark Monroe, Jason Zeldes and Kim Rozenfeld serving as executive producers.

Bravo announced that “Family Karma,” the first docuseries to feature an all-Indian cast, will return for Season 2 with a supersized episode on June 2. “Family Karma” explores the personal journeys of nine young Indian American friends trying to navigate life, friendship, careers and family. Returning cast members include Anisha Ramakrishna, Amrit Kapai, Bali Chainani, Brian Benni, Monica Vaswani, Shaan Patel and Vishal Parvani, while Dillon Patel and Rish Karam will join the new season.

HBO Max has announced that “Generation Hustle” will premiere on April 22. The 10-episode docuseries follows young con artists who have pulled off the most wildly inventive scams of the new millennium. Episodes feature the stories of WeWork’s Adam Neumann, scam rapper Teejayx6 and more. “Generation Hustle” is executive produced by Stacey Offman, Richard Perello, Angie Day, who also serves as showrunner, co-creator Yon Motskin, who also directs three episodes, Amy Entelis and Lyle Gamm. Isaac Bolden and Brad Hebert co-executive produce. The series is produced by Jigsaw Productions and CNN Original Studios.

RENEWALS

MTV announced that the popular dating competition show “Double Shot at Love” has been renewed for a third season. It will follow “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D as he helps find a perfect match for bachelor Vinny Guadagnino. The renewal comes after six months since the show had wrapped up its Las Vegas-set second season. “Double Shot at Love,” the third spin-off of the “Shot at Love” series starring Tila Tequila and the Ikki Twins, is produced by Todd Radnitz, Dan Caster and Diana Morelli for MTV with SallyAnn Salsano and 495 Productions.

The former five-term representative from Memphis will offer commentary across all Fox News platforms, including Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network’s daytime and primetime programming.
