Anya Taylor-Joy became a road warrior for her Mad Max role even though she never got around to getting a driver's license.

The actress, 28, stars as a young Imperator Furiosa in the new action film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which is set to feature various car-heavy stunt sequences. Taylor-Joy pulled off her duties, though, despite not having an official driver's license.

"I still don't have my license. I haven't been anywhere long enough to get a license," she told Entertainment Weekly. Her costar Chris Hemsworth added that, now, "unofficially, she does" after making the film.

Added Taylor-Joy, "It is pretty cool that the first thing I learned to do in a car is a juicy lift 180. I feel pretty secure in that. But I love cars. I love Formula 1. My dad was a power boat racer, so we're just pretty petrol-y as a family."

The Menu actress told EW that she knows what car she would get if and when she does pass a driving exam.

"I know once I have my license, the stupid car that I'm going to get. I'll probably break it. It's a Ferrari Dino. Those are hot cars. It's going to be bright yellow and I'm psyched," she said.

Hemsworth, 40, then joked, "Your driving test should just be you handing them a DVD of Furiosa: 'You tell me if I can f---ing drive.' "

It was on The Graham Norton Show in 2022 that Taylor-Joy shared a video of her doing a "juicy lift 180" spin in a car while making the movie, admitting that it was her "first time" behind the wheel of a car.

"I can't parallel park. I can't go on the highway. I still don't have [a license] — but I can do that! At some point that will come in handy, I'm assuming," she said at the time.

She added, "The way that they've trained me how to drive now is as if I'm in a high intensity chase at all times. I'm kind of nervous to get my license now. I'm a bit concerned about society.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is in theaters May 24.
