Anwar Hadid says he’s not ‘anti vax’ after writing he won’t get COVID vaccine

Fashion model Anwar Hadid now says he’s not “anti vax” after writing on Instagram that he will “absolutely not” get the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I think everyone has to be careful with each vaccine individually looking at positive and possible negative side effects,” he wrote on his Instagram story Monday.

Hadid, 21, drew heat over the weekend after he said he doesn’t plan to get vaccinated when asked by another Instagram user, according to TMZ.

He wrote of the virus in a separate post to his Instagram story, “Either i just dont get it or i get it and god willing heal from it and get antibodies rather than do that process unnaturally.”

“Our bodies are made by the creator to do way more than we think.”

The posts were later deleted.

Hadid is the younger brother of fellow models Gigi Hadid, 25, and Bella Hadid, 24.

Anwar, Bella and their mother, Yolanda Hadid, were each diagnosed with Lyme disease years ago.

Cooper University Health Care says people could “be at a greater risk of complications from COVID-19 if (their) immune system is decreased from the more severe forms of Lyme disease, such as post-Lyme disease syndrome or chronic Lyme disease.”

The health organization says people whose Lyme disease symptoms were “resolved” after the illness was detected and treated early will likely not face additional risks if they catch COVID-19.

In Monday’s post, Anwar said he’s received other vaccines in the past and didn’t intend to take a stance on the matter.

“As someone who has had a compromised immune system, I want to continue to learn about the many ways I can protect myself and others. never meant to offend with my words, and I am so grateful for all the frontline workers and doctors and the powerful work they have done during this time,” Hadid wrote.

“I’m listening and im all about the conversation.”
