Anthony Edwards has had the support of his girlfriend, Shannon, throughout his NBA career.

The social media influencer posted the first public picture of the couple on Instagram in 2020 and has often been seen sitting courtside at Edwards’ games for the Minnesota Timberwolves ever since. On Jan. 21, 2023 — a few days before Shannon's 29th birthday — he scored a season-high 44 points, including eight 3-pointers, in the Timberwolves’ victory over the Houston Rockets and dedicated the performance to his girlfriend.

“My girlfriend’s birthday is in [a few] days man. She’s going out of the country so I had to put on a show for her, Edwards told ESPN before blowing a kiss towards Shannon.

Most recently, the couple became parents to a daughter. During a Timberwolves game on March 2, Edwards left at halftime to be with Shannon as she gave birth to their baby girl. His girlfriend also shares one son, Krue, with rapper Chief Keef.

2020 was a big year for Edwards when he became the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft, which eventually led to him being named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. 2020 was also the year when he and his girlfriend Shannon went public with their relationship on Instagram.

“Together forever any problem you got I got it ✌🏽💕,” Shannon captioned a photo of her and Edwards hugging.

Part of Shannon's life as an influencer is showing what she’s up to for her roughly 120,000 followers on Instagram. Many times, she can be seen sporting different outfits as she sits courtside while cheering on Edwards at Timberwolves games in Minnesota.

After Edwards’ final game of the 2023 season, she posted a series of pictures of herself and her son Krue sitting courtside for the game while referencing the Timberwolves’ then-upcoming NBA playoff tournament game against the Los Angeles Lakers. One picture featured her wearing a navy-and-white jacket with “A. Edwards,” “Wolves” and “Minnesota Basketball” written on the back.

“Some [heroes] don’t wear capes, season 3 🎬 ! LA next 📍,” Shannon wrote on Instagram.

Edwards has gone viral on numerous occasions for his high-flying dunks and clutch shooting. Shannon has expressed her amazement both in person and on social media.

In January 2024, Edwards pulled off one of his most viral moments yet when he threw an alley-oop pass off the backboard to himself before catching it in mid-air for a two-handed slam dunk.

Shannon shared a video of the play in her Instagram Stories, writing, “OMG," per Essentially Sports.

After announcing they were expecting their first child together in December 2023, Shannon and Edwards hosted a lavish shower in February. The event featured a white and rose gold colorway with balloons, two massive tables with seating arrangements and rose gold macarons with their daughter's initials “AJE” written on them.

Some of the attendees included many of Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves teammates like All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns, Kyle Anderson, Jordan McLaughlin and Luke Garza. The video also featured Edwards and Shannon dancing and taking pictures together.

“baby A.J.E is otw … 💕✨,” Shannon wrote on Instagram.

Shannon and Edwards welcomed their daughter in March 2024. Edwards left a Timberwolves game at halftime to be there for her birth on March 2.

After Edwards’ Timberwolves completed a 4-0 series sweep of the Phoenix Suns — led by Kevin Durant and Devin Booker — in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs the following month, Shannon shared a picture on her Instagram Stories of Edwards cuddling with their daughter at home.

“She was waiting on him to come home to do this😂,” she wrote over the photo.

Shannon's younger brother also celebrated the baby's arrival on Instagram, writing, "Congrats to my Big Sis and Ant..!! My Niece is Officially Here and Healthy 🙌🏽🫶🏼💕💫 I’m a UNC x2 🤣🤣🕺🏼 this Celebration was definitely 1 for the books.! Can’t wait to meet ya baby girl AJE…!🤞🏽."

In addition to her newborn daughter, Shannon is also a mom to son Krue Karter, whom she shares with rapper Chief Keef.

She often posts pictures of her son on Instagram and even created his own page. Her own Instagram bio reads: "I just love being a mom."

In the years that Edwards and Shannon have been together, it appears that Shannon's son Krue has taken after Edwards in some respects. According to ESPN, Edwards was a promising young football player, but by the time he was 9 years old, he decided that basketball looked more fun and switched courses.

Not only is Krue a multi-sport athlete like Edwards, but Shannon even posted a video on Instagram of her son hitting a game-winning buzzer-beater. Krue ran up the court before leaning forward into a 3-point shot as the ball suspensefully bounced around the rim before going in at the buzzer.

“different timing 'BUZZER BEATER KRUE,' ” Shannon wrote on Instagram.

After the buzzer-beater, Krue ran around the court celebrating and pounding his chest — similar to the way Edwards often celebrates — before being embraced by his teammates.

Shannon has also posted Krue’s flag football highlights on Instagram, which often shows him outrunning the other team. In 2022, when Krue won his first football championship she posted on Instagram about how proud she was of him for his many accomplishments.

“WOW what a accomplishment of many more to come , #1 in your league [and] you was apart of that greatness,” Shannon captioned the post. “I’m so proud of you KrüeKrüe I love you before I met you [and] I’ll always love you unconditionally until my last [breath]. You know that! From accelerating in school.. star student every week. The best reader in your class. I’m soooo proud of you. #1sttrophy#1styearoffootball."
