Drury Plaza Hotel Tallahassee is the latest hospitality offering to open in the capital.

The new location opened late last month at 1690 Raymond Diehl Road off Capital Circle Northeast, formerly the site of a small strip mall and Osaka Japanese Steak House; the restaurant relocated to Maclay Commerce Drive.

The site joins more than 150 locations under the family-owned hotelier brand, which includes Drury Inn, Drury Suites and Pear Tree Inn. Other Florida locations include cities like Gainesville, Fort Myer, Orlando and Disney Springs.

In Tallahassee, the new Drury Plaza neighbors other hotels like the Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn & Suites and Spring Hill Suites by Marriott — creating more options in short proximity of Interstate 10 in the northeast.

The seven-story, mid-tier hotel has 180 rooms, including 49 deluxe king rooms, 107 deluxe double queen rooms and 24 deluxe two-room suites. General Manager Jennifer Woods said she wants each guest to feel like they're home.

Rooms feature a touch of Tallahassee with photos of the city's landscape and other visuals, along with throw pillows in the lobby that illustrates fun grid maps of the capital city.

"We're known for exceptional customer service and the amenities that we provide," said Woods, who's worked at four and opened three Drury sites.

Amenities include a free hot breakfast bar and a 5:30 p.m. "Kickback," which includes a snacks, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. Guests can also take advantage of a late-night dining option in the lobby, an outdoor pool and spa, free parking, a 24-hour business and fitness center and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

In a city where meeting space is high demand, the Drury Plaza Hotel Tallahassee can accommodate groups up to 280 attendees. The Tallahassee hotel has three total meeting rooms, including 2,800 square feet of flexible meeting room space, that can accommodate up to 150 in largest capacity space.

Chuck Drury, president and CEO of Drury Hotels Company, said the company is eager to "bring our award-winning service to our newest location."

“Every day, at more than 150 hotels across the country, our team members ensure that our guests receive exceptional service at a great value," said Drury, in a statement, whose father and uncles opened the first location in 1973. "We look forward to many warm welcomes in Tallahassee and are delighted to be part of such a thriving, historic community.”

The Tallahassee location has 45 employees. In addition, Drury Plaza has vacancies available that include a full-time maintenance technician, additional housekeepers and team members for the kickback service and evening food and beverage store.
