Another Kentucky versus Louisville recruiting battle? And other UK basketball recruiting links.

While a couple of perceived recruiting battles between Kentucky and Louisville appear to be winding down, another one might be brewing, and all are set against the backdrop of the upcoming Big Blue Madness in Lexington.

As you’re likely aware, both Aaron Bradshaw and DJ Wagner will be making their second official visits to Kentucky on Oct. 14 for Big Blue Madness, the annual preseason event that serves as the kickoff for both the UK men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

Bradshaw will announce his post-high school playing decision on Nov. 16. Wagner has no timetable for his decision. Kentucky appears to be in a good spot to land both players, with the stiffest competition likely being the NBA G League in Bradshaw’s recruitment.

Which is where Karter Knox enters the story.

Knox is a UK legacy recruit, whose older brother Kevin played one season at UK during the 2017-18 campaign before being selected No. 9 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The younger Knox is a class of 2024 small forward ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 5 player in the country in his class.

But while the UK vs. U of L recruiting battle with Bradshaw and Wagner might be winding down, it’s just getting started for Knox.

In addition to visiting UK for Big Blue Madness on Oct. 14, Knox will also be visiting Louisville for Louisville Live — the Cards’ season kickoff event — on Oct. 21.

It’s still early in Knox’s recruitment, and he told 247Sports that other schools including Auburn, Kansas and LSU have been in to visit him since the most recent college basketball recruiting period began.
