Another Kentucky Lottery winner: Marion County man wins $225K Cash Ball prize

An anonymous man from Bradfordsville told Kentucky Lottery representatives he was in disbelief Tuesday after winning its Cash Ball 225 game, which awards a top prize of $225,000.

The man purchased a set of numbers Saturday for $1 at the Redi Mart on Bluegrass Pike in Danville for the drawing that took place later that night. He later discovered he’d won $225,000.

The winning numbers were 5, 8, 18 and 25 and the cash ball was 2.

“I saw I had the first two numbers, squeezed out the third number and went on to match the fourth and fifth numbers,” he told lottery officials, according to a Kentucky Lottery news release. “It was kind of unreal.”

The Marion County man was in such disbelief, he and his wife took the ticket to multiple stores the next morning to confirm they’d actually won.

He claimed the ticket Monday at lottery headquarters in Louisville, where he received a check for $159,750 after taxes. The man said he and his wife plan to take care of some debt with their winnings.

The Redi Mart that sold the winning ticket will get a $2,250 bonus.
