Another Idaho ski area will open this week, and a third eyes opening in early December

Two Boise-area ski resorts have confirmed their opening dates just days after Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area had its earliest opening in 28 years.

In a news release Wednesday, McCall-based Brundage Mountain said it will have a limited opening on Friday, with just the Easy Street chairlift running through the weekend. Lift tickets cost $10 for the day, and season passholders can use their 2022-23 passes to ride.

The Easy Street and Roller Coaster runs will be groomed, and a small terrain park will also be open. Brundage will close again until Dec. 2, and officials said they anticipate snowstorms bringing more powder to the slopes during the closure.

Currently Brundage has 23 inches of snow at the base of the mountain and 25 inches at the summit.

Tamarack Resort in Donnelly is also gearing up for opening day. Spokesperson Gloria Miller told the Idaho Statesman Tamarack plans to open Dec. 9 unless conditions allow for an earlier opening.

Miller noted that Tamarack has single-day tickets for $55 on weekdays and $75 on weekends with 24 hours advanced notice.

According to Tamarack’s online snow report, it has 28 inches of snow at the summit of the mountain.

Bogus Basin is still open on weekends and holidays but has not yet fully opened for the season.
