Another up-and-down week clears room for a new team atop the lohud boys lacrosse rankings

It's time again for a new look.

Rye climbed back to No. 1 last week, but did not look good in a home loss to Mamaroneck, which did not look good in a humbling loss to Wantagh.

So let's go with Pleasantville.

The Panthers dispatched Class D up-and-comer Haldane then took care of Kellenberg. Now the schedule gets extreme. Garden City is coming for a visit on Wednesday and that game is followed by a showdown at Shoreham-Wading River on Saturday.

1. Pleasantville (7-1) — If the Panthers are competitive with and find the back of the net against Garden City and Shoreham-Wading River it will be considered a productive week. Previously: 2

2. Iona Prep (7-3) — Winning streaks are hard to come by with regional powers like Don Bosco, Seton Hall Prep and St. Anthony's on the schedule. Previously: 4

3. Rye (5-2) — After failing to engage and struggling to score against Mamaroneck, the Garnets played with purpose and came back for a noteworthy win over Shenendehowa. Previously: 1

4. Somers (8-1) — What did the Tuskers learn from a loss at South Side? The level of execution this week against Pelham and Carey will be telling. Previously: 5

5. Mamaroneck (5-3) — The Tigers are undefeated in Section 1 and continue a challenging seven-game road trip at Lakeland/Panas and Yorktown. Previously: 7

6. John Jay-Cross River (6-3) — Dom Savastano makes Andrew Kiefer and Luca Duva even more dangerous. He established a program record last week, recording his 600th career face-off win. Previously: 6

7. Yorktown (5-3) — The current slide is going to hit five unless the Huskers find a way to create more offense against the likes of Cold Spring Harbor, Mamaroneck and Rye. Previously: 3

8. Greeley (5-2) — If the Quakers want to be part of the conversation in Class B, they will need to show what they are capable of this week in a back-to-back against Bronxville and John Jay. Previously: 8

9. Bronxville (4-3) — Did the Broncos turn a corner with Saturday's win over Greenwich, Conn.? They have been waiting for a breakthrough. Previously: 9

10. Carmel (6-1) — A long winning streak isn't going to help the Rams as much as the closing stretch against John Jay, Yorktown and Greenwich. Previously: 10

On the bubble: Byram Hills (4-3); Haldane (2-5); Scarsdale (5-5); Tappan Zee (6-1); Westlake (7-0).
