Announcing the 2023-2024 Enquirer Greater Cincinnati high school basketball All-Stars
This past season provided plenty of memories on the hardwood for local teams.
The Purcell Marian Cavalier girls won their third consecutive state championship while Springboro reached the Division I state championship game.
The Moeller Crusaders ended the regular season atop the statewide rankings and appeared in the regional final. Wyoming also ended its season as one of the final eight teams in Division II.
Here are the Enquirer's 2023-2024 high school basketball all-stars for each division in Ohio, as well as Northern Kentucky and Indiana.

Co-Players of the Year
Tyler McKinley, Winton Woods; and Alex Kazanecki, Moeller – McKinley was the district player of the year after averaging 18.5 points, 10 rebounds and 3.3 assists for the Warriors, who were 19-4 and Eastern Cincinnati Conference champions. He is a Cincinnati commit. Kazanecki, a junior, averaged 13 points a game and led the Crusaders to a 26-2 record and the regional final.

Derrell Black, Aiken – He led the Falcons to a 16-7 record and the Red Division championship of the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference after the team went 7-15 the year before.

Player of the year
Ru Mills, Woodward; and Kellen Wiley, Wyoming – Mills, the district player of the year, averaged 22 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists for the Bulldogs, who finished 16-8. Wiley averaged 15 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists for the Cowboys, who were 24-4 and reached the regional finals. He was Cincinnati Hills League Player of the Year.

Luke Sanders, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy – The senior averaged 26 points and five rebounds per game. He was first-team all-district and led the Eagles to a 16-8 record and co-champions of the Miami Valley Conference-Scarlet.

Dan McKibben, Williamsburg – He led the Wildcats to a 23-3 record and championship of the National Division of the Southern Buckeye Athletic and Academic Conference. He was named Ohio Division III coach of the year by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association.

Tay Kinney, Newport – The sophomore guard led the Wildcats to a 32-4 record, a second straight Ninth Region championship and the Sweet 16. He averaged 17.5 points per game and hit 65 3-pointers.

Brent Sowder, Campbell County – In his first season at the helm, he led the Camels to a 27-7 record, 10th Region championship, and the quarterfinals of the Sweet 16, where they lost to state runner-up Harlan County in overtime.

Player of the year
Bryn Martin, Springboro: The junior led the Panthers to their first district title since 2020 and their first state championship game since 1978. She led the Great Western Ohio Conference with 21.6 points per game on 49.9 percent shooting from the field 41.1 percent from three-point range. She also contributed 4.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game. She also set a Division I state tournament record when she scored 38 points against Pickerington Central. Martin was the GWOC Player of the Year, the Southwest District DI Player of the Year, and was an all-state first-team member.
Coach of the year
Rob Matula, Mason: In his final year at the helm, Matula led the Comets to a 24-3 record, their third outright Greater Miami Conference in four years and a fourth straight district championship. He was named the GMC Coach of the Year and the Southwest District DI Coach of the Year.

Player of the year
Dee Alexander, Purcell Marian: The University of Cincinnati commit was named the DII Player of the Year and Ohio Ms. Basketball for the second straight year and is the fourth straight Gatorade Player of the Year from Cincinnati (K.K. Bransford, Chance Gray, Sole Williams). The Miami Valley Conference Player of the Year and MaxPreps Ohio Player of the Year averaged 18.4 points, eight rebounds, four assists and 2.5 steals to lead the Cavaliers to their third straight state championship. Alexander also holds the record for most career points in the state tournament, scoring 136 points in six games.
Coach of the year
Jamar Mosley, Purcell Marian: Mosley led the Cavaliers to a 29-1 record and their third straight state championship. Purcell Marian won 27 straight games to end the season and has a 94-8 record in the last four years. He was also the Miami Valley Conference-Scarlet division coach of the year for the second straight year.

Quinn Eubank, Ryle: At 6 feet tall, the Belmont commit did it all for the Raiders. The KABC co-Ninth Region Player of the Year led her team with 15.7 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game as Ryle advanced to its third straight regional championship. She was also named to the Courier-Journal's all-state second team.
Coach of the year
Justin Holthaus, Cooper: The former boys basketball assistant led the Jaguars to their third straight regional championship and a second state semifinal in three years. Cooper had a 15-game and 13-game winning streak last season en route to a 31-5 record. In the past three years, Holthaus has an 85-19 overall record.
