Anne Hathaway Has Two Very Different Takes on Monochromatic Dressing

The press tour for The Idea of You is churning out some of Anne Hathaway’s best street-style looks this year to date. Just a day after the star turned out in a preppy take on The Matrix’s all-leather costumes, she headed out again today to deliver two totally different takes on monochromatic dressing.
The first involved a sophisticated all-white ensemble by Patou. Fit for either a Today Show appearance or a session at high tea, this prim look included a quilted white minidress with a matching short-sleeved jacket, with both pieces adorned with large reflective gold buttons. She continued the color scheme with matching white leggings, white pointed-toe pumps, and a leather half-moon shoulder bag.
If her first outfit was suited for teatime, then her second look took her straight to happy hour.
Hathaway later changed into an all-blue outfit for an appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, where she turned up in a sleeveless semi-sheer azure dress from Simkhai. The midi dress featured an array of playful details, from the ribbed mesh material to the bouncy tiers of ruffles lining the hem. Underneath, she wore a matching blue bralette and what appeared to be a bodycon skirt. She finished off the look with a pair of aquamarine patent leather pumps and black sunglasses.
Erin Walsh, Hathaway’s longtime stylist, talked about why the actor’s style resonates with her legions of fans in an interview with Today in 2022.
“It’s pretty obvious, even fashion-wise, people are very excited about what’s happening with her,” Walsh said. “But to me, that resonates so strongly because there’s so much more going on than just the clothes, right? It’s this woman who people are connecting with, how she is and who she is.”
