Andy Cohen Addresses 'Vanderpump Rules' Taking a Break From Filming

Andy Cohen is speaking out about the decision to put Vanderpump Rules on hold for season 12.

During a live episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, host Andy Cohen addressed the decision to pause production on the hit reality show. The show, known for its drama and intrigue centered around the staff of Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants, has decided to take a hiatus from filming, prompting fan speculation.

Co-host John Hill broached the topic during the show, asking Cohen about the decision to halt production and give the cast a break. Cohen, known for his role in producing the Real Housewives franchise, clarified that he is not directly involved in Vanderpump Rules production.

Cohen acknowledged the benefits of taking a break from filming, drawing parallels to his experience with the Real Housewives series.

"I think that, you know, I was talking to Ariana [Madix] about this on the after-show last night," Cohen said. "I was saying, people do forget, especially as it relates to Ariana, who was the one cheated on. People forget that we picked up cameras a few, three months after she found out about that affair, so that's why she's still in the violently angry stage and you can understand that, so I always think it's great."

Cohen then highlighted the importance of allowing cast members time to live their lives off-camera, suggesting that it can lead to authentic and impactful storytelling upon their return.

The decision to pause production comes amidst reports of additional projects involving cast members. Ariana's participation in hosting Love Island and Lisa’s potential second season of Vanderpump Villa likely contributed to the scheduling adjustment.

TMZ was the first to report on the halt in production for season 12.
