'AGT: Fantasy League’ Reveals the 40 Acts Competing in New Format

We’ve had America’s Got Talent: All Stars and America’s Got Talent: The Champions, and now the Got Talent franchise is introducing a new take on the competition show: AGT: Fantasy League, which will give us a winter edition of the series in early 2024. And it will be way more competitive!

Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel will make up the judging panel, and they will be joined by Mel B, who is returning after a several years’ absence. Terry Crews will remain the host.

“You always want to see the follow-up,” Howie tells Parade in this exclusive interview. “You always want to see how these people’s lives and careers and dreams have changed. I can’t think of another show that exists where you come and you do it and whatever level you get to, whether you win or get close, regardless, these people’s lives have changed. America’s Got Talent tells amazing, relatable, wonderful, hopeful stories. When we have these follow-up shows, we want to see where these stories lead to. We want to see these happy endings.”

“I want to see them again and I think America wants to see them,” Heidi tells Parade of the returning artists. “I think this is my third time doing All-Stars, so America must like it, or they wouldn’t want it back. It’s really like the America’s Got Talent family. There should be an add on that says family, because we are like a family. In the 10 years that I’ve been here, there are so many faces, acts, and names that I know and love and it’s like a family reunion. Just because we’ve seen them once before doesn’t mean they’re not interesting anymore. It gives us another chance to see greatness once again.”

Why will Sofia Vergara not be judging America's Got Talent: Fantasy League?

Sofia told AGT viewers, "I had other things to do! But I'm going to leave you in good hands, I've found the perfect replacement." She was referring to Mel B, of course. That said, she did promise to return next summer for regular AGT.

What is the format for America's Got Talent: Fantasy League?

The new format for AGT: Fantasy League will resemble a fantasy sports draft with each judge picking a roster of their favorites from Got Talent franchises from around the world. The only catch is that the judges had to make their selections from a list that was voted on by America.

Each judge will select 10 acts—singers, dancers, ventriloquists, comedians, aerialists, magicians—that they feel have the potential to win it all. It will also mark the first time in the show’s history that the judges will be competing alongside the contestants and will mentor and guide the acts throughout the competition with the hopes of earning bragging rights and seeing an act from their team crowned the champion of AGT: Fantasy League.

Will the Golden Buzzer still come into play on America's Got Talent: Fantasy League?

The Golden Buzzer will be back and, as usual, will send acts straight to the finale, but the twist is each judge can use the Golden Buzzer to steal an act from another judge.
