Over half of the films were directed or co-directed by women, and the films hail from Bosnia and Herzegovina (“Sevap/Mitzvah”), China (“A Roadside Banquet”), Panama (“Ojue”), Colombia (“Bogotá Story”) and the United Kingdom (“Under the Blue”).

Actor Liev Schreiber and cinematographer Janusz Kaminski are among those whose work feature in the titles.

The emerging showcase winners will be chosen by a jury that includes agents, managers, producers, industry members, and a committee from Gold House.

Gold House will present the inaugural Cultural Impact award to a filmmaker across the showcase’s categories whose work exemplifies excellence in multicultural narratives or underrepresented perspectives.

“I’m very excited about our partnership with Gold House and spotlighting the diversity amongst the films and filmmakers we continue to showcase each year,” says Monika Skerbelis, Director of the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase.

“We’re honored to be a part of AmPav’s long history in showcasing filmmakers at Cannes as our first major European film festival presence. We view supporting diverse storytellers as more than even a societal need, but a business imperative as well,” says Christine Yi, General Manager of Gold House Futures and General Partner of Gold House’s Creative Equity Fund. “Studies show that billions of dollars in film and television revenue are being left on the table by an underrepresented industry. Supporting the
early careers of these filmmakers and their authentic stories is a win from every angle.”

Winners will be announced at The American Pavilion during this year’s Cannes Film Festival. All the jury Award-winning films will also be part of a special screening at The American Library in Paris on Tuesday, May 28th.

Prize packages are sponsored by Gold House, Write Brothers Movie Magic Screenwriter, International Documentary Association, Screening Services Group, Simple DCP, Michael Wiese Productions Books, The American Library in Paris, and ESE Film Workshops Online.
