From the sound of it Sean McVay wants to continue coaching. However, Amazon’s potential offer to bring him in as a commentator could change McVay’s mind.

Per a report from the New York Post, Amazon could end up making a “serious run” after McVay to join the broadcast booth.

“Though Rams head coach Sean McVay has said he will continue on the sidelines this year, Amazon could make a serious run at him, according to sources,” writes Andrew Marchand.

Sean McVay is currently one of the highest-paid coaches in the NFL, as he makes $8.5 million per year. Would he really walk away from that? Well, let’s just say he could potentially earn much more in the broadcasting world.

Troy Aikman is leaving FOX to join ESPN’s Monday Night Football crew. He’s reportedly expected to make over $17.5 million. Yes, you read that right. That kind of money could convince McVay to walk away from coaching.

“Aikman’s ESPN deal will be for five years, according to sources, and his yearly salary is expected to approach or exceed the neighborhood of Tony Romo’s $17.5 million per year contract with CBS. The deal is not yet signed, but it is near completion,” Marchand added.

Should McVay leave the NFL and begin his commentating career with Amazon? The NFL world is discussing the idea.

“Sean McVay would be one of the best NFL Analyst in history of TV the amount of information that guy can provide during a game is incredible,” one fan tweeted.

“Sean McVay is making 8.5 million a year to coach the Rams. He could make 15 million a year to go to FOX or Amazon. Anyone confused about why it could happen shouldn’t be,” a fan wrote.

“Tony Romo signed a 10-year, $180M deal to call games for CBS. Making more money as a broadcaster to work less,” one fan added.

Are McVay’s days in the NFL numbered? If the money’s big, he could end up leaving for Amazon this offseason.
