Alyson Hannigan Gets DWTS Support From HIMYM Co-Star Cobie Smulders
Alyson Hannigan is competing on Season 32 of Dancing With the Stars — and perhaps no one is more excited than Cobie Smulders.
Hannigan’s How I Met Your Mother bestie was among the first to voice their excitement on Hannigan’s Instagram post, commenting “Yes 🔥👏👏👏❤️” beneath photos of Hannigan and dance pro Sasha Farber.
American Pie‘s Jason Biggs was also quick to cheer on his on-screen wife, writing: “🔥🙌 Let’s goooooo.”
Hannigan played Lily Aldrin for all nine seasons of HIMYM, opposite Smulders’ Robin Scherbatsky. Smulders reprised her role in Season 1 of Hulu’s How I Met Your Father, but Hannigan did not return. The sequel series was cancelled earlier this month.

The full cast for Dancing With the Stars‘ fall cycle (premiering Tuesday, Sept. 26 on ABC) was revealed on Wednesday’s Good Morning America broadcast, and also includes Mira Sorvino (Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion), Barry Williams (The Brady Bunch), Matt Walsh (Veep), Jamie Lynn Spears (Zoey 101) and Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).
