Alex Ovechkin Will Play Game 1: NHL World Reacts
The Washington Capitals will be welcoming back their best player for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Alex Ovechkin will play against the Florida Panthers after he sat out the final three regular-season games with an upper-body injury. The Caps didn’t want to risk the injury getting worse.

Ovechkin is really putting the name of “Russian Machine Never Breaks” to great use, now. He scored 50 goals again this season, which is the ninth time he’s hit that mark in his career.
Fans are pumped to see him back in the lineup as he will need to be at his best if the Caps are to upset the Cats.

Game 1 will start at 7 p.m. ET. It’ll be televised by ESPN2.
