Alex Jones’ Sandy Hook jury hears from dad who’s been ‘looking forward to this for a long time’

Jurors in “Infowars” host Alex Jones’ defamation trial heard a tearful mother and fed-up father describe their 6-year-old daughter’s funeral, where the mourning parents could only focus on the fear conspiracy theorists instilled in the days leading up to a service meant to provide closure.

“They stole that from me,” an emotional Alissa Parker told a Connecticut court Wednesday.

A six-person jury in Waterbury, Conn., is in its third week of hearings to decide how much Jones will pay to families whose loved ones were among the 26 people shot dead in a 2012 elementary school massacre that occurred 20 miles from the courtroom where the penalty hearing is unfolding. He’s already been ruled liable.

In the aftermath of that killing, Jones suggested to his “Infowars” audience that the slaughter was a ruse by performers advocating for stricter gun control legislation. He has since conceded the deaths were real, but told the court last week he was done apologizing.

According to The Independent, Parker said her daughter Emilie Parker was buried in a closed casket ceremony. She and her husband worried Jones’ fanatics would attend her service and take photos to use for further harassment.

Parker said that after her child’s death, conspiracy theorists sent letters and emails calling the dead girl a “wh--e” and accusing the child’s dad, Robbie Parker, of being an actor after video of him eulogizing his daughter at a prior event was posted online.

The Parkers said within a year of their little girl’s killing they moved cross-country to Washington state, but the death threats and harassment didn’t stop. Parker said her husband became withdrawn and untrusting.

Robbie Parker told jurors Wednesday that he found his wife curled up and crying in a closet before their daughter’s funeral, unsure if she could deal with what was waiting. The New York Times reported she was similarly doubled over and sobbing in the gallery as her husband testified.

“I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time,” Parker told the court.

A Texas jury awarded Sandy Hook families who sued Jones in his home state nearly $50 million last month.
